May we stay in touch with you ?
The EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) requires organisations like ours to obtain your specific permission in order to keep sending you our regular news bulletins.
We are using the Mailchimp e-mail service to create our list(s) of subscribers, although at least a little while longer you will continue to receive the weekly mailings via our old e-mail service.
If you would like to continue to receive our bulletins or simply to receive our Chaplain's Newsletter, and to generally stay in touch with the Chaplaincy, we would ask you to go to the web address
by clicking on the link above, and filling in the form with as much information as you want to give us. Please note that you are welcome to receive weekly bulletins from more than one church if you wish to do so.
We do need your name and e-mail address but apart from that, you can choose whether or not you wish to give us your postal address and/or your telephone number. If you are on the Electoral Roll of the Chaplaincy, we already hold your postal address (and in some cases where you have provided it, your e-mail address) but we are only allowed to use that to notify you about matters concerning the official meetings of the Chaplaincy Council and the District Councils and in emergency. We cannot use your address to send you our normal weekly bulletins.
So please do fill in the online form.
When you do so, you may be asked to confirm that you are not a robot trying to exploit our list to send out Spam, and you will be sent a confirmation e-mail to confirm your e-mail address has been entered correctly.
Please note that you can decide to leave the mailing list at any time - our e-mails will all explain to you how to do this. You can also amend your details any time you wish.
Because some of our e-mail systems require us to pay if we exceed a certain number of e-mails sent per month, we must restrict membership of our lists to people with whom we have a regular connection. We therefore reserve the right to remove you from our mailing lists if you have not visited any of our churches for over 6 months, leave the Electoral Roll or have not been in contact with us for over a year.
We also reserve the right to remove any e-mail address from our system at our absolute discretion at any time and without notice in the interests of the proper administration of the Chaplaincy.
We will NEVER give or sell your details to any other organisation, but may allow the Diocese of Europe to send you news updates as well from time to time.

Is Mailchimp Safe To Use?
The short answer is: Yes
The long answer is that Mailchimp have 14 million customers and handle 1 BILLION e-mails per day. They invest massively in security and meet all major security standards and GDPR Certification Requirements. Is it 100% Safe ? Nothing is certified to 100% security since this is impossible. It is, however, far safer than any system that the Chaplaincy could operate using its own resources.
