Our Faith
What do we believe?
Whatever brought you to this page, the first and most important thing to say is that God loves YOU! Whatever you may think about yourself, whatever you have done in your life, however other people may view you, God adores you, is delighted with you and loves you with a love that never ends.
As Christians, we believe that God made everything in the universe, and that he made human beings in his image to have a special place within the created world, and to enjoy a special relationship with God himself. Right from the beginning of the relationship, through our selfishness, (we often call this sin) humankind broke the relationship with God and the whole of creation suffered as a result. Rather than the ceaseless enjoyment of God's perfect presence, death and suffering entered the world.
Faith Resources
As the Christian life is based on love for God and love for our neighbours, it's a life which can only be fully expressed by sharing our lives with other Christians who support, uphold and challenge one another so that we grow more mature in our faith. Because of this, we think the best way to learn more about our faith is to come along and visit your nearest church, and join in the life of the family that worships there.
Of course, there are many reasons this may not be very practical or possible, and a range of resources are available for those who want to grow in faith, understand more about the beliefs of the church, or simply find out more about what life is like as a Christian.
Below are some resources from the Church of England and other sources which provide explanation of what the church believes, and encouragement for those hoping to develop in their faith.

The church of England's faith web pages
The 39 articles of religion are part of the Church of England's historic basis of faith. Though this document is now very old, is is still at the heart of Anglican doctrine (our understanding of faith). to this day, every licensed or authorized minister in the church assents to the articles as they begin a new ministry.
A modern english version of thew articles can be downloaded here.
