Christingle - More than just an Orange

At our Christingle service on Sunday, 15th December, Rev'd Christel Langdon-Griffiths inspired the imagination of young and old alike in her demonstration and explanation of the meaning of the Christingle Orange! Originated by the Children's Society, this celebration is often held during one of our services leading up to Christmas.

The Christingle Orange symbolism:

* The orange represents the world

* The red ribbon (or tape) symbolises the love and blood of Christ

* The sweets and dried fruit represent all of God’s creations

* The lit candle represents Jesus’s light in the world, bringing hope to people living in darkness.
