In the quiet of the night in Alet-Les-Bains, our congregation gathered to celebrate the First Communion of Christmas. The Church of St Andre had been beautifully decorated with a crib and many votive candles had already been lit earlier in the evening for our Roman Catholic bretheren's Communion Service.
To this we added our Advent Ring with the fifth, Christmas, Candle being lit as Midnight struck marking the beginning of Christmas Day. Our Midnight Mass is always traditional in its form, with incense used to cense the altar, the sacraments and the congregation. We sing additional carols during the service and Mozart's Ave Verum Corpus was played during the administration of communion.
We are grateful to Reverend Canon Tony Jewiss who led our worship, and to Reverend Neil Batcock who preached the sermon.
We wish everyone who attends Alet-Les-Bains, or any of our other worship centres, a Joyous Christmas and Peaceful and Prosperous New Year.
